Mike's Platform

Mike Lindell for Governor of Minnesota

Hello, friends and fellow Minnesotans. I’m Mike Lindell, the Inventor of MyPillow, a proud Christian, a businessman, and a lifelong Minnesotan running for Governor. I built my company from a simple idea into a success story that employs hardworking people right here in our state. But today, too many Minnesota families are struggling. Taxes are skyrocketing, schools are failing our kids, crime is up in our cities, farmers are squeezed, and common-sense values feel under attack. Independents and even some lifelong Democrats tell me the state is going in the wrong direction after years of one-party rule. I’m running against the establishment politics that have left rural communities behind, burdened working families, and eroded public trust. I believe in faith, family, hard work, and strong stewardship of the land God gave us. My plans focus on practical solutions that grow our economy, protect our freedoms, secure our future, and unite Minnesotans. We can restore the Minnesota Dream—good jobs, safe streets, strong schools, and affordable living—for every corner of our state. Below are my detailed plans on the key issues that will appeal to everyone that wants real change.

Jobs and the Economy

Minnesota’s economy should work for everyone, from factory workers and small business owners to entrepreneurs and families. Under current leadership, inflation, regulations, and high costs have driven up prices for groceries, gas, and housing while pushing businesses to look elsewhere. As a successful entrepreneur, I know firsthand that government overreach kills jobs. My plan starts with cutting red tape and making Minnesota businessfriendly again. I will enact targeted tax relief for small businesses and manufacturers, especially in Greater Minnesota, to encourage expansion and hiring. We’ll invest in workforce training programs that partner with local technical colleges and companies to fill high-demand jobs in manufacturing, healthcare technology, and trades. I’ll also promote “Buy Minnesota” initiatives to support local products and reduce reliance on out-of-state supply chains. These steps will create thousands of good-paying jobs and bring economic opportunities back to every region. The result will be stronger families, revitalized cities and towns, and a state where young people stay instead of leaving for lower-tax states. If you currently feel the pinch at the grocery store and gas pump will see real relief, because of our pro-growth policies rooted in free enterprise and personal responsibility. Together, we’ll make Minnesota the economic powerhouse it was meant to be.

Agriculture & Rural Communities

Agriculture is the backbone of Minnesota’s economy and rural way of life. Our farmers feed the nation and the world, yet they face declining incomes, rising input costs, burdensome regulations, that threaten their way of life. I grew up respecting the land and the people who work it. As governor, I will stand with our farmers, not against them. My plan includes targeted relief: reducing regulatory burdens from St. Paul, expanding access to broadband in rural areas for precision farming and market access, and supporting value-added agriculture like ethanol and biofuels to create new revenue streams. We’ll fight for fair trade policies that open markets without unfair foreign competition and provide practical disaster assistance that reaches farmers quickly. Rural communities will thrive again with better infrastructure, preserved family farms, and policies that honor the Christian values of stewardship and hard work. Minnesota’s rural heartland will once again be strong and prosperous.

Environment, Climate Change, Homegrown Energy, and Natural Resources

I believe we are called to be good stewards of God’s creation—our lakes, forests, and farmland. But radical climate policies that ignore science, economics, and Minnesota realities have raised energy costs and threatened jobs. We don’t need alarmism; we need balance that protects the environment while keeping energy affordable and reliable, especially in our harsh winters. My approach promotes homegrown energy: expanding biofuels from our corn and soybeans, responsibly developing our iron ore and other minerals on the Iron Range, and exploring advanced nuclear and natural gas for clean, reliable baseload power. We’ll protect the Boundary Waters and Great Lakes through practical conservation, not extreme lockdowns that hurt local economies. This commonsense path creates jobs in energy and mining, lowers utility bills for families, and preserves our natural heritage for future generations.

Health Care

Health care should be accessible and affordable, not a government monopoly that drives up costs and limits choices. Minnesota families face high premiums, long wait times, and policies that prioritize bureaucracy over patients. As someone who has provided good jobs with benefits, I know the private sector and competition deliver better outcomes. I will reform our system by expanding health savings accounts, increasing price transparency, and will push for more cross-border and interstate insurance options. We’ll focus on mental health and addiction treatment—especially opioids—through partnerships with faith-based and community organizations. Families will gain more choices and lower costs, seniors will keep the care they deserve, and our base will celebrate reduced government control. Independents struggling with medical bills will see practical relief that puts patients first.

National Security and Secure Elections

Strong national security begins at home with secure borders and trustworthy elections. Minnesotans deserve confidence that their votes count and that our state supports our military and first responders. Recent years have shown vulnerabilities in election processes and threats from unsecured borders that affect all of us. I will champion election integrity reforms: voter ID requirements, paper ballots, same-day registration safeguards, and full post-election audits. On national security, we’ll support our troops, veterans, and law enforcement while ensuring Minnesota cooperates fully with federal efforts to protect the homeland. Public trust will be restored, Minnesota will stand strongly as a secure, patriotic state.

Veterans, Servicemembers, and Their Families

Minnesota’s veterans and active-duty families have sacrificed everything for our freedoms. They deserve more than thanks—they deserve results. Too often, bureaucracy at the VA and state level leaves heroes waiting for care, jobs, and support. My plan includes streamlining state veterans’ services, expanding job training and hiring preferences for veterans in state government and contracting, and partnering with private businesses for seamless transitions. We’ll prioritize mental health resources tailored to the unique challenges of service, including faith-based counseling options. Honoring our heroes strengthens communities and reflects Christian values of gratitude and service. This motivates the base and appeals to independents who respect sacrifice and want practical support for military families.

Fraud and Abuse, Public Trust, and Rule of Law

Public trust in government is at a low point after years of waste, scandals, and unaccountable spending. As someone who has spoken out against fraud and fought for truth, I will root out corruption and restore integrity at every level. I will implement strict audits of state spending, crack down on welfare and program fraud, and ensure transparency in contracting. Rule of law means equal justice—no special treatment for the connected. We’ll protect whistleblowers and empower citizens to hold government accountable. Minnesotans will regain faith in their institutions. We will celebrate a return to constitutional principles, because we are all tired of scandals. As your governor I will be committed to honesty and efficiency.

Cut Fees and Taxes

Minnesota’s high taxes and fees punish hard work and drive families and businesses away. We cannot tax our way to prosperity. I will deliver meaningful relief by lowering income taxes, especially for middle-class and working families, and eliminating unnecessary state fees that act as hidden taxes. We’ll conduct a full review of state programs to cut waste and inefficiency, allowing us to reduce the overall tax burden without sacrificing essential services. Small businesses will benefit from lower corporate rates and simplified regulations. Lower costs mean more money in families’ pockets for groceries, housing, and savings. This fires up Republicans who believe in limited government and attracts independents struggling with the cost of living.

Stop Rising Property Taxes

Property taxes have risen sharply—preliminary figures show a potential 6.9% statewide increase for 2026, with even higher jumps in cities and counties—burdening homeowners, farmers, and seniors on fixed incomes. This is unsustainable and driven by unchecked local spending and state mandates. My plan caps annual property tax increases, provides targeted relief for seniors, veterans, and family farms, and shifts more education funding to the state level to ease local levies. We’ll require greater transparency and voter approval for large levy hikes. Homeowners and farmers will breathe easier, rural communities will stabilize, and independents will appreciate relief from rising bills. Our base will see fiscal discipline in action.

Education – Fix Failing School System

Minnesota’s schools are failing too many children. Proficiency rates remain low—around 43% in math and 48% in reading—with persistent achievement gaps and little recovery from pandemic losses. Parents want basics taught, not ideology. I will expand school choice and education savings accounts so every family can choose the best option—public, charter, private, or homeschool. We’ll refocus curricula on reading, math, history, and civics, empower parents with transparency and rights, and hold schools accountable for results through performance funding. Kids will learn, teachers will be supported, and excellence will return. This excites the base defending parental rights and appeals to independents wanting better outcomes for all children.

Public Safety and ICE

Safe streets are a basic right. Crime in our cities and lack of cooperation with federal immigration enforcement have endangered communities. We must back our police and enforce the law. I will fully support law enforcement with funding, training, and policies that reject defund-the-police nonsense. Minnesota will cooperate with ICE to remove criminal illegal immigrants, honoring detainers and prioritizing public safety. Neighborhoods will be safer, families protected, and our base energized on law and order while independents in high-crime areas see real change.

Immigration

Immigration legally strengthens America, but open borders and sanctuary policies strain resources, impact wages, and threaten security. Minnesota has seen the costs in welfare, crime, and community tensions. My plan enforces federal and state laws: end sanctuary policies, support border security, prioritize skilled and assimilating legal immigrants, and deport criminals aggressively. We’ll work with the federal government on fraud in refugee and benefit programs. The Rule of law will prevail, resources will focus on citizens and legal residents, our base will feel heard on sovereignty, and independents concerned about costs and safety will find common ground. Friends, these plans represent a positive, forward-looking vision rooted in faith, freedom, and common sense. Join me in this fight for Minnesota’s future. Together, we can turn our state around. God bless you, and God bless Minnesota.

Pro-Family & Pro-Life

Minnesota’s families are the backbone of our communities, no matter the configuration, our kids need strong families.  We must invest in partner programs and services that will encourage unexpected new mothers to support their new gift from God, no matter the situation.  Life must be protected at all stages.
